To the new artist and the upcoing into the game. You need to watch this movie - learn the basics and the history first. Many artist right now that is getting all the attention don't really know what hip hop is. I recieve several emails from people wanting me to listen to a track or check out a youtube video. Its ok, but not impressive... to go out and tell my followers to buy it. My advice is to become more lyrical and have a genuine "flow" with your song. Going with the trend will only put you in a catergory where you really should not be. 

Eventhough this movie is a bit old - it came out in 2005.. it is still till this day educational for Hip Hop artist today. Learn your history... 

I like chatting with one of my Twitter friends - @EASKI on what hip hop is like. All he can do is shake his head at it. I agree -- this shit is something else .

I was born and raised in Union Springs, Alabama. I developed a love for music when I was young. I was writing, rapping, and free-styling in high school. After graduating I moved to Killeen, Texas. It was there that I met up with another rapper named Uncle Maine and we formed the group U.M.L.B. Crunk and Aggression was our first album. We later decided to go our separate ways with the group and I started back being a solo artist. Afterwards I dropped three solo mixed tapes: Respect My Flow, Radioland, and Money Is Tha Motivation. I am currently living in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I am still pursuing my music career. I have recently released a mixtape as part of B.D.S. BOYZ titled: Bang Dat Shit Vol. 1, which is available for free download on Datpiff.com. I am about to drop my new solo mixtape titled Clubs and Subwoofers. On this mixtape you can find my new hit single “BULL SH*T” which is in heavy rotation right now. I have appeared in many articles and opened for many artists like: Fat Joe, Mike Jones, Marcus Houston, Adina Howard, T-Pain, Charlie Boy and J Cole. I have also performed at many local and regional events. My music can be heard on many underground music internet stations, as well as most local radio stations and clubs in North Carolina, and surrounding areas.

Who is "LIL BANKHEAD"?

Lil Bankhead is one of the youngest in the industry, but is well on his way to becoming a mover and shaker in Atlanta. Proudly reps the westside of Atlanta's ZONE 1 and a high school graduate of Fredrick Douglas.
 
At the early age of 18, Lil Bankhead experienced firsthand what it felt like to be a taker in pursuit of your dreams; He was offered a full scholarship to attend New York University, but passed it up to pursue a dream to be in the entertainment industry. Many year later - that dream became a reality with Atlanta based record label - SO SO DEF in their promotions
department, where he learned how important it was to build your network base.

From SO SO DEF, Bankhead  worked in Atlanta Radio until he got a break with The Peoples Station- V-103. After graduating from AIU in Media Production he began filling in and producing for DJ GREG STREET and realized he found his niche. 
With 7 years under his belt at V-103 producing for Greg Street and The Big Tigger Show to joing forces with 
DJ INFAMOUS on their "TAKEOVER SHOW". 

Currently, Lil Bankhead is the newest member of Atlanta's HIP HOP station Streetz 94.5
