I was introduced to hip hop in the 90's with 2 Live Crew and quickly became hooked. After 'The Chronic' and 'Doggystyle', I stumbled across 'Enter the 36 Chambers' by Wu Tang. Immediately I fell in love with the raw gritty lyricism and wordplay. Fusing my love for poetry with my new interest , I soon started writing my own songs and eventually moved into freestyling. I would freestyle over beats all day with no output for hip hop. Living in Yorkshire in the mid 90's, that's as far as it went apart from recording cassette demos for fun and jumping on mics at house parties, etc. In 2002 I recorded 90% of an album, which got destroyed in a fire before I got hold of it. I went back to freestyling, started to meet a few like-minded heads, and had 'The Odd Cypher' until 2006. I formed the "Sikboyz" with a local M.C. named Nukeleus and my friend Mik-E. We recorded an album worth of material, although never released anything more than a few tracks on MySpace. After many creative differences, we'd continue on/off, doing a few odd gigs and open mics. Some of our decent stuff is still on my Soundcloud somewhere, but it's not that good. After being pushed by friends, I decided to make a go of it, solo. I dropped my first track "Citylife".
