Up to ten songwriters will be selected to join Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox in Jermaine's studio in Atlanta for a 24 hour writing session
Selected writers will be asked to come to Atlanta on a date-to-be-determined before the end of March 2015, when they will go into Southside Studio to write alongside these two writing and production powerhouses.
Submitters should bring their A game and submit their very best material. The duo is seeking writers capable of writing for the likes of Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, or Sam Smith.
A&R manager Serge Durand says, "I want to stress the fact that the potential writers have to come with it. The bar is set very high. These are guys who have won Grammy's and dozens of awards, so mediocre won't cut it."
For your reference, beginning with breakout success in 1992 upon the discovery of teenage rappers Kris Kross, Jermaine Dupri became one of the most consistent and all-persuasive producers of the 1990s, producing practically the entire careers of many artists on his label, So So Def Recordings (including platinum entries like Xscape and Da Brat as well as Kris Kross). In addition, Dupri provided a steady hand to many of the most high-profile R&B albums of the decade, such as TLC's CrazySexyCool (ten times platinum) and Mariah Carey's Daydream (eight times platinum).
Bryan-Michael Cox is a multiple Grammy Award-winning American songwriter and record producer, notable for his extensive work with multiple platinum-selling artists including Usher, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and Toni Braxton.
