At least four people were hurt when a Boeing 757 Delta flight aborted takeoff from Atlanta Airport on Friday morning due to an apparent engine problem. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport said in a statement that the incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. local time, when passengers were reportedly urged to 'duck down' and leave shortly after the plane accelerated to take off. The delayed flight was scheduled to fly to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Operations out of the airport were hampered by the runway situation, which occurred during 'ongoing severe weather.' Four passengers reported minor injuries, with three treated on the spot and one taken to the hospital. There were reportedly more than 200 people on board. Others at the airport uploaded images of passengers leaving the Delta plane with inflatable slides released on a snow-covered runway as emergency crews raced to the site. According to a post on the bulletin board site Reddit, a person who claimed his wife was on the flight stated that the plane was 'accelerating to take off and slowed.' 'They were ordered to duck down and then to flee by the emergency slide,' the post stated. 'All her belongings are still on board, and the passengers are standing in the snow.' Comments are closed.
