UK Charitable Trust MMBF and Colchester Film Festival have partnered up to introduce the Matthew Martino Rising Star Award which will be awarded at this year’s CFF which runs from the 22nd of October to the 26th at Firstsite Gallery in Colchester
In the CFF Program brochure the award is described as follows ‘This year Colchester Film Festival is introducing the Matthew Martino Rising Star Award. The aim of the award is to encourage new and emerging British filmmakers by publicising their talent and supporting their future work. The award is chosen in collaborate with the festival directors and this year’s festival judges.
The prize will be awarded to the filmmaker the selectors feel has the most creative potential and will benefit the most from receiving the award. The winner of this award will received a £250 curtsey of the Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund.
Colchester Film Festival 2014 takes place from the 22nd-26th of October 2014 at the Firstsite Colchester Visual Arts Gallery (Essex, UK). They are an international film festival dedicated to discovering and showcasing the best filmmaking talent from around the world and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.
MMBF who are All-Star Matthew C. Martino’s brainchild will offer sponsorships and grants for aspiring pilots, film-makers and actors. They have announced a funding budget of £15000 ($25000) for the 2014/2015 year. The Trust will award films, individuals and students who they feel will benefit from a boost or grant towards their career.
