Soulja Boy on Wallstreet
Do you buy cd's or download a track online. What is the future of the music industry? How will music survive the illegal downloads from artist? These are the questions asked to Soulja Boy.
I would have to scream the question. Why is the Wall Street Journal interviewing him anyway? Well, I will not be so hard on Soulja Boy. The Wall Street Journal has interviewed other rappers as well …( nuff said). Soulja Boy talks on continuing the use of Social media with his career and work. To his credit of followers: Twitter 3.3 Million, Facebook 6.3 Million, and Youtube has nearly 500k Subscribers.
Again, I am wondering why WSJ? As stated by Soulja Boy himself- "I think over the next five to ten years, artists are gonna resort to touring, of course," Soulja Boy told the WSJ. "But I also think social media is gonna kick in to the next level. With the iPhone, the iPad and everything that's coming out, there's gonna be a new invention for the way people consume music."
With his latest single "Pretty Boy Swag" has been certified platinum and have made the top 30 list of Billboads Mag HOT 100 chart. Some may have been wondering - How is he making it all this time under the music radar. Maybe he is still living off that “Crank Dat” money. As always, I support Hip Hop as it helps me everyday.
