Shay D is a rapper and lyricist from London. After winning a MC Competition In Cyprus in 2003 she decided to pursue a professional career in music. Her content is in relation to social and everyday life through her experiences as a youth worker. She decided to combine her love of hip hop and social awareness to run Rap and Lyric Writing workshops for young people. Her love of poetry influenced her first EP, 'Once Upon A City' and being brought up in the 90s has a influence on her sound. She released her Mixtape, 'A Little Bit Of Shay D' which was a collection of all her music in October 2013 which had great feedback. Shay D co runs a live hip hop and poetry event in London with her all female rap crew, The LC Collective. Shay D also presents interviews for UKHH.com and has her own Hip Hop radio show on ITCH FM.
