Willie Wright is a unique individual who may be new face to the hip-hop ranks, but he's a seasoned veteran in the art of entertainment. Building his lyrical ability on the New York spoken scene, Wright always had a knack for shaking things up with his thought process.
With lines like "I've sat at a white table and played black jack with race cards," Wright quickly moved up in the poetry scene finishing, finishing among the top at several competitions including the New York Knicks poetry slam.
Now older, wiser and lyrically in tune with the times Wright attempts to take his skills to the next level; with songs like "Got Away" and "Young and Successful," Willie Wright builds a message of progression while staying true to the grit that is hip-hop. The talented emcee has been performing since his spoken word took him on a national college tour. These days his perfected stage show makes him a much sought after performer.
"It isn't just about cars and clothes with Wright he's really trying to break a wave in the way we view and hear hip-hop. His song [I just wanna know] is a true artistic statement that screams you cannot box me in, i will be different"
-Adam Woodward at the Earth Day Celebration in Madison, WI.
